Jen, I am in the middle of Judge Charles Breyer's opinion that is a total victory for Gavin Newsom,

as we heard the governor telling us during your hour.

And of course, you've reported that the Trump administration is already appealing this.

But as you read it, as you get through it, it's very hard to find

any space for appeal in this decision. And of course, we will also be covering the breaking news

from Israel tonight about that preemptive strike against Iran. And Jen, with your experience

in a White House in a situation like this, what would be going on,

not in the Trump White House because no one can ever imagine that, but what would be going

on in the White House that you've served, White House you served in, the administrations you've

served in on a night like this with this situation with Israel.

Well, as the congressman just alluded to, I think the biggest concern for any White House

is the safety of U.S. men and women serving overseas at these military bases and doing everything

you can to prevent them from being targeted. Secretary Rubio's statement struck me for a number of reasons.

One, it was kind of send the message, we have nothing to do with this, Iran.

We have nothing to do with this.

It seems they clearly knew it was coming because Trump asked them not to do it and they did it.

And they seemed to have been monitoring it.

But that is your first concern is to de-escalate what

could happen in the Middle East because Iran has proxies around the Middle East. We've seen that

explode. And right now it seems like Israel's suggesting this could be expanded and extended.

So it is how much, how far, how long, and does that escalate things in the region as well?
