election. Tomorrow's debate, I thought, would be make or break for just Donald Trump. And all Kamala Harris

needed to do was just show up, answer the questions, and try to correct Trump's fusillade of lies,

even though her microphone will be turned off while he's lying.

I didn't think much was writing on this for Kamala Harris.

I'm no longer sure about that.

Regretfully, from what I'm reading, the people I'm talking with, the internals on some polling,

are telling me this debate may actually be a little more important for her than any of us thought as recently as last Friday.

There's a lot going on in this presidential race right

below the surface. And it's now shaping up to be a blowout in terms of the electoral college

for Harris. But each state will be hard-won victories with razor-thin margins as of this morning.

There are stubborn undercurrents in American history that we ignore at our own peril.

Undercurrence that favor Trump, who is more than willing to exploit white America's

fear and loathing of strong black women.
