Summary

Full Episode- (09/17/2024): 3:05pm- On Tuesday, Governor Ron DeSantis held a press conference in West Palm Beach and explained that it isn’t in the country’s best interest to have the same agencies that are prosecuting former President Donald Trump simultaneously leading the investigation into Sunday’s assassination attempt. 3:10pm- On Sunday, Secret Service spotted a 58-year-old man hidden inside the perimeter of Donald Trump’s golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida—armed with an AK-47 style rifle, scope, and ceramic plates likely used as protection from gunfire. According to initial reports, the suspect, Ryan Wesley Routh, had been hiding at Trump International Golf Club for 12-hours with the intent of assassinating the former president who golfed 300 yards away. Secret Service fired at Routh, though he managed to escape in a Nissan before ultimately being arrested a short time later. This is now the second assassination attempt against former president Trump in roughly two-months. 3:20pm- On Tuesday, Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris spoke with members of the National Association of Black Journalists in Center City, Philadelphia. Rich notes that Harris’s visit means more word salads and more local traffic. 3:30pm- Kat Timpf—Comedian, TV Personality, and New York Times Bestselling Author—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss her latest book, “I Used to Like You Until…(How Binary Thinking Divides Us).” How important is her book? Timpf jokes: “I would rather even have people read [the book] than buy it, which sounds crazy to my own bottom line.” You can find more information about the book here: https://www.simonandschuster.com/books/I-Used-to-Like-You-Until/Kat-Timpf/9781668067277 3:40pm- While speaking with Politico, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas stated that Donald Trump is now “approximately” receiving the same security as Joe Biden. 4:05pm- Rich wonders: how are these “random, lone gunmen” able to get so close to former President Donald Trump? It’s imperative all information regarding both assassination attempts be made public. 4:15pm- While speaking with Megyn Kelly, Eric Trump said that people are clearly trying to kill his father and that the threats will not stop. 4:20pm- The History of Presidential Assassination Attempts: There have been four presidents who have been assassinated while in office: Abraham Lincoln, James Garfield, William McKinley, and John F. Kennedy. Sadly, there have also been numerous attempts against sitting and former presidents—including Ronald Reagan, Donald Trump, and Teddy Roosevelt. Interestingly, a would-be assassin’s gun misfired twice while attempting to kill Andrew Jackson—Jackson used a cane to beat the man. 4:40pm- Diddy Indicted on Charges of Sex Trafficking: Ben Sisario and Julia Jacobs write, “in a federal indictment unsealed on Tuesday, Mr. Combs, 54, was also described as the boss of a yearslong criminal enterprise that threatened and abused women, coercing them to participate against their will in drug-fueled orgies with male prostitutes and threatening them with violence or the loss of financial support if they refused. Mr. Combs, who pleaded not guilty, was denied bail at an arraignment on Tuesday afternoon. The 14-page indictment against Mr. Combs, a producer, record executive and performer who is also known as Diddy and Puff Daddy, includes three counts of sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. Prosecutors said that to commit these acts, Mr. Combs and his employees engaged in kidnapping, forced labor, arson and bribery, and kept firearms at the ready.” You can read the full article here: https://www.nytimes.com/2024/09/17/arts/music/sean-combs-diddy-indicted.html 4:50pm- Rich hates avocado mayo, brioche buns, and Matt. 5:05pm- On Tuesday, Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris spoke with members of the National Association of Black Journalists in Center City, Philadel ...
