Hello again, I'm Warren Olney, and this is To the Point.

Donald Trump may be in the White House because he promised to shake up Washington,

but did that mean capsizing basic institutions? For two weeks, the president has run roughshod,

not just over professional civil servants, but secretaries of defense and homeland security,

he just appointed. Some conservative veterans of the George W. Bush administration are even predicting impeachment before he can finish his term.

We'll compare Trump's uninhibited use of executive power to what's happened in other countries, where checks and balances were not as strong as predicted.

On our talking point later, this morning's National Prayer Breakfast mixes religion with politics and reality TV.

We'll look at the consequences

after just two weeks of his administration. On today's talking point later, Mr. Trump told

this year's national prayer breakfast that his ban on immigrants from Muslim countries would

protect religious liberty in the United States. We'll get some reaction to that. First,

this news update last Saturday,

Mr. Trump spoke by phone with five other national leaders, including Vladimir Putin.

But he told Australia's Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull this was the worst call by far.
