They didn't take their last opportunity to rethink, think a bill that they had a veto

proof majority on.

I loved your conversation with Philip Atiba Gough, though, about Minneapolis.

He made an interesting point.

He said, if you're worrying about police forces that are bad in America, Minneapolis doesn't

top 50, doesn't crack the top 50.

But he said, if you go three consent decrees at a time, which is kind of roughly the

average these days, there are very few under the Trump administration at all because

the Trump administration simply didn't believe in that sort of thing.

It's going to take us decades or millennia to figure this out.

It's, you know, he was right in saying it's better than not having them, but it's a slow

process.

I believe the technical term is drop in a bucket, but that doesn't mean it's not worth

talking about.

One of the things that did make Minneapolis interesting, though, is that the fundamental

problem on that police force was the union chief.

And that is the case in many American police forces.
