She's pro-life, but not on Thursday.

The state of Alabama killed death row inmate Kenneth Smith using nitrogen gas,

a brand new form of capital punishment.

Now, in 2022, Alabama corrections officials attempted to execute Smith by trying to inject a more

traditional death serum into his arm, but it being Alabama, they couldn't find his vein.

After the botched execution, his lawyers appealed his death sentence to the Supreme

Court, saying attempting to put, attempting to pull it off again would constitute cruel and

inhumane punishment. But on Thursday morning, the Supreme Court refused to reverse the sentence,

and now he's dead. His final words were, tonight, Alabama, causes humanity to take a step backward.

Then Smith spoke to those who try to block his execution by saying, quote, humanity rose up. I am leaving with love,

peace, and light. I love you. Thank you for supporting me. I love all of you. Using nitrogen for the

first time in the United States, the Alabama Solicitor General called it the most humane form of capital punishment

ever invented. Witnesses to the execution say when the gas mask was applied, Smith began

riving and kicking for up to four minutes. But we were told by the Solicitor General of Alabama

that Smith would pass out within 45 seconds.

Then, after arriving for four minutes, Smith spent five minutes struggling to breathe.

The most humane form of capital punishment ever invented.
