in New York City, the Wall Street Journal reporting that with fewer than eight days to go,

Democrats and Republicans are far apart on sealing a deal to fund the Department of Homeland Security.

Punchbowl reporting that Senate Majority Leader John Foon is already prepping a new continuing resolution to keep the Department of Homeland Security funded past the deadline saying he'll probably introduce it on Friday as both sides appear to drift further apart.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer says he's sending his offer to Republicans by early today.

Even he admits it's a long shot.

That being said, Democrats appear to have voters on their side.

ABC News reporting late Wednesday that a new Ipsis poll shows 62% of Americans think ICE and Trump have gone way too far on dealing with undocumented

immigrants. A new Quine Pack poll says half of all Americans say they know someone close to them

who is fearful that they will get rounded up by ice.

Think about that.

Half this country knows somebody who's terrified right now.

Speaker Mike Johnson telling reporters Wednesday he might be able to compromise with the Democrats,

especially when it comes to Schumer and Jeffrey demanding

that ICE agents start wearing body cams.

Mike Johnson, who fancies himself a constitutional scholar, saying he won't budge on forcing

homeland security to rely on judicial warrants instead of administrative warrants.

Those are signed by Homeland Security officials, not judges.
