Summary
Today on Justice Matters - Glenn does his weekly legal recap and talks about the art of flipping a defendant. First up in the legal re-cap: Donald Trump is ramping up more dangerous rhetoric and social media posts and no one seems to be able to stop it. Glenn explains how his speech is dangerous to individuals and to the nation. Examples of recent danger - Trump posting Obama's address and his follower Taylor Taranto heads to his house and gets arrested. AND Trump posts on his social media that Special Counsel Jack Smith should be "put out to rest." Next, Glenn explains the legal standard for pretrial detention - is the person a danger to the community or a flight risk? Then, he talks about the various ways to flip a witness or defendant. A witness who has committed a crime can be a difficult problem for prosecutors. So how do you get them to flip and give truthful testimony? Then finally he speculates that Rudy Giuliani and Mark Meadows may be on the verge of flipping against Trump after following the bread crumbs of clues left by prosecutors.

| 1:26.6 | My friends, in my 30 years as a prosecutor, I flipped lots of defendants. You know, some of my |
| 1:33.9 | colleagues accused me of being a little too enamored of working with cooperating witnesses. I |
| 1:41.0 | even had some friends and colleagues call me the king of the cooperators. And let me tell you, |
| 1:45.6 | that's not a compliment. You know, I'm not bragging that somebody once called me the king of |
| 1:51.0 | cooperators because working with cooperating witnesses can be extremely difficult. And some |
| 1:59.5 | prosecutors honestly just kind of avoid it like the plague. They don't want to work with cooperators. |
| 2:05.6 | They don't want to work with criminals to try to prove their cases. But me, I always thought, |
| 2:13.4 | look, cooperating witnesses are like my de facto experts on crime. They're out there, |
| 2:21.9 | you know, doing crime with others. They know who's in the community doing what? They're the ones |
| 2:28.7 | who are often ideally positioned to testify about the crimes of others. The problem is, |
| 2:36.8 | given that their criminals themselves, it can be a real challenge, sort of getting them to a point |
