It's starting to feel nice outside temperature-wise. We're all looking forward to this summer.

Donald Trump in particular was looking forward to this summer. The stars aligned for him to

oversee both this country's 250th anniversary and America's turn hosting the World Cup. Grand events with massive audiences and

plenty of pomp and circumstances, stuff that Trump loves. He was planning on being at the center

stage for all of it. Donald Trump is the historical inaugural recipient of the FIFA Peace Prize.

You remember, it's expected, he's expected to be involved in all sorts

of World Cup stuff. Pifa never had a peace prize before Donald Trump, and we're not quite sure why

they do have one anyway. As part of the 250th anniversary festivities, Trump is constructing a

massive stage at the White House for a UFC cage fight on June 14th.

Words I never thought I'd say in my journalistic career.

June 14th, by the way, if you're keeping track, happens to be Donald Trump's own birthday.

So that's quite a coincidence.

And then there's something called the Great American State Fair, which is a weeks-long event

to be hosted on the National Mall.

It was originally supposed to kick

off with a very big opening day concert, but the majority of the artists who were announced

as part of the lineup dropped out when they learned really this was just a Trump event. So now

Trump is going to headline the event himself. So now a MAGA rally is going to serve as the kickoff

to what is ostensibly a celebration of the

anniversary of the founding of the United States of America, which is kind of right out of the

authoritarian playbook. Get the people to conflate the strongman with the state itself.
