Hi, from CNN. I'm Josh and Shana with the five things you need to know for Wednesday, December 24th.

The Justice Department released thousands more files related to Jeffrey Epstein yesterday,

and many had mentions of President Donald Trump.

Now, Trump is not accused of any criminal wrongdoing, and the Justice Department said some of the materials include, quote, untrue and sensationalist claims about the president.

Several of the documents relate to the trial of Epstein's accomplice, Gillane Maxwell,

in 2021. CNN's Marshall Cohen breaks down what was learned.

Prosecutors and FBI investigators had uncovered that Donald Trump back in the 1990s

had flown on Jeffrey Epstein's plane at least eight times.

Not only that, but some of the other passengers on that plane were women who were potential

witnesses in the Maxwell sex trafficking trial.

Additionally, we learned that before that trial, the Justice Department sent a subpoena

to Mar-a Lago, which of course is President Trump's golf club and resort down in South Florida.

It is partially redacted, the subpoena.

We don't know how exactly Mar-a-Lago responded.

And in some exclusive reporting, CNN has seen an email which shows that the DOJ is scrambling

to find holiday volunteers to help make redactions to the Epstein files.

The email sent to a district's office in Florida includes an emergency request from the Deputy

Attorney General's office,

asking for career prosecutors to work over the quote next several days.

And this potentially suggests more files are going to be released over Christmas and New

years.
