In New York City, former President Trump and Vice President Harris set aside politics today

to commemorate the 23rd anniversary of the free, and the home of the brave. Both candidates were seen at Ground Zero alongside President Biden and

Senator J.D. Vance paying tribute to the nearly 3,000 victims lost that day.

Trump and Harris, fresh off of their first presidential debate, shook hands ahead of the

ceremony. Later, Biden and Harris attended a wreath-laying ceremony in Shanksville, Pennsylvania for a flight 93 memorial,

and they also attended a tribute later that day at the Pentagon.

Over 400 first responders gave their lives on September 11th, 2001.

The 40 passengers and crew members of Flight 93, all of whom lost their lives,

are believed to have prevented a larger terrorist attack by fighting back against the hijackers.

The Shanksville crash site is just a 20 minute flight from the U.S. capital.

House Speaker Mike Johnson is delaying a crucial House vote on a plan to prevent a partial government shutdown.

The legislation is a continuing resolution combined with the Save Act, which requires proof of citizenship to vote.

The bill faced more resistance than expected from Republicans.

Some opposed the funding bill on principle, while others raised concern about the impact

on defense funding. Johnson

indicated today that the vote may be rescheduled for next week.
