Carolina, but also in California.

And Donald Trump is now saying he wants to overhaul FEMA because of what he is witnessed,

because of what he has seen.

President Trump on Friday said that he plans to sign an executive order to begin the process of

fundamentally reforming and overhauling FEMA or maybe getting rid of FEMA because of just how

disastrous the agency is run. Now, he toured parts of North Carolina that were hit hard by flooding after Hurricane

Helene. Trump said he thinks the federal emergency management agency is too bureaucratic and

slow. He suggested that state governments handle disasters within their states. He had the

precise details about the executive order are not immediately available.

We're expecting those to come soon. And Donald Trump did sidestep some of the questions from

reporters about a timeline for these plans. But the premise was clear. He believes that the

bureaucracy of FEMA also plays favorites.

And a great example of that is North Carolina and what they have not received from the federal government.

Now, Trump invited families to talk about the flooding that ruined their homes and their

struggles with recovery and the lack of support from the federal government.

Trump says administration would surge, quote, housing solutions to North Carolina

and said he would sign executive order to lift regulations so that roads can be rebuilt

without permitting needed that the Biden administration has left in place when they were there knowing it was

holding up the roads from being built. Later on Friday, the president also said, look,
