For a man who caught attention like few others,

President Trump certainly had it when he addressed

the World Economic Forum in the Swiss ski resort of Davos today. And not just the assembled

gathering of political and business leaders sitting in stony silence in the main convention hall,

but people all over the world. Why? Because of the expectation that Mr. Trump would, in the heart of Europe,

give some clarity about how he intends to fulfill his ambition to take control of Greenland.

In recent days, the White House has continued to insist it wouldn't take military action off the table.

That says almost everyone would mean the end of the transatlantic alliance and the collapse

of the post-second World War liberal order. Well, in the end, he did rule out the use of force,

as we'll hear, and in the past hour has said that the framework of a deal on Greenland is on the

table without giving any details. However, the audience had to wait quite a while

because the first part of President Trump's speech was devoted to telling the audience how well the

US was doing since he'd returned to the White House. After 12 months back in the White House,

our economy is booming, growth is exploding. Productivity is surging.

Investment is soaring.

Incomes are rising.

Inflation has been defeated.

Our previously open and dangerous border is closed and virtually impenetrable.
