Good evening once again. I am Stephanie Ruhl, and it is day 78 of the Trump administration. And what a day it has been. It is the day three of the president's tariffs causing chaos in the markets. The markets were all over the place today. The Dow fell.

0.95 percent after a wild day of trading, it saw a nearly 2,600 point swing, the largest in the

stock indexes history, according to CNBC. Despite the volatility, President Trump does not

plan to pause the next round of tariffs, set to go into effect on Wednesday. He spoke about

it during a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier today.

Here's a bit of it.

Would you be open to a pause in tariffs to allow for negotiations?

Well, we're not looking at that. We have many, many countries that are coming to negotiate deals

with us and they're going to be fair deals and in certain cases they're going to be paying substantial

tariffs. There'll be fair deals. There can be permanent tariffs and there can also be negotiations

because there are things that we need beyond tariffs. Trump also, I see Ron shaking his head,

also threatened to slap another 50% tariff on China this Wednesday

if they do not remove a retaliatory tariff. That would put the total tariffs on the country

at 104%. The escalating trade war has heightened economic uncertainty overnight. And here's why

all of this matters. Even if you're not an investor, for all those who say, damn Wall Street, they've been

screwing us for years, I don't own stocks.
