- Breaking News: New York Judge Arthur F. Engoron found that the former president Donald Trump inflated the value of assets controlled by the Trump Organization in past financial statements. With no jury, Judge Engoron unilaterally chose to fine Trump $354 million and barred him from conducting business in New York for three years. Notably, in 2018, while campaigning to become New York Attorney General, Letitia James vowed to “sue” Trump and routinely spoke of how she would like to see him imprisoned—providing evidence to the defense’s legal argument that this civil suit is entirely political. Trump’s legal team is expected to appeal the decision.
