Today on the show, as Congress tries to avoid a government shutdown, Senator Gene Shaheen

urges her colleagues to extend those expiring health care tax credits that help millions of Americans afford health insurance.

Two of President Trump's pollsters have said,

if the Republicans don't extend these tax credits to help people with the cost of health

insurance, they're going to pay at the ballot box.

And one year after Hurricane Helene devastated communities from Florida through the Carolinas,

the disaster has shaped the way some people think about climate change.

But first, Ukrainian officials are responding to President Trump's new stance on the war there with cautious optimism.

Trump met with Ukrainian President Zelensky at the UN yesterday. Afterward, Trump posted on

social media that Ukraine, quote, with the support of the European Union, is in a position to

fight and win all of Ukraine back in its original form.
