President Donald Trump is expected to sign his so-called big, beautiful bill today.

The multi-trillion dollar bill is set to unlock tax cuts and funding boosts for national security,

partly paid for by the largest cut

to the federal safety net in decades, which Democrats are opposing.

Trump celebrated his huge political win in Iowa yesterday.

There could be no better birthday president for America than the phenomenal victory we achieved

just hours ago when

Congress passed the one big, beautiful bill to make America great again.

CNN's Jeff Zellini was at Trump's event.

As the president signs his landmark bill into law, he's also talking about what he believes

is a moment where he has more power for the rest of his presidency.

He of course touted his strong support in the Republican Party, only losing two votes in the House of Representatives,

three votes in the United States Senate. But now the race to define this bill is well underway,

effectively ringing the opening bell of the 2026 midterm election

campaign. Democrats are seizing on many of the policy items in the bill, even as the president

celebrates it is the biggest bill history has ever seen.

Also today, President Trump says he'll speak with Ukraine's Vladimir Zelensky this morning,

after a disappointing conversation with Russia's president yesterday.

I'm very disappointed with the conversation I had today with President Putin.

Trump says he doesn't believe Vladimir Putin is looking for peace right now in his country's

invasion of Ukraine.
