Well, it turns out governing is a lot more difficult than campaigning as Trump is finding out.

He can pretty much say whatever he wants on the campaign trail, especially because there were so

few people pushing back. But now that he's in office and the people that he's appointing and

putting in charge are governing our country, they have words they say matter.

His office tried to put out a memo on Monday, freezing trillions of dollars of federal grant

and loan money across the country in this broad sweep, specifically excluding only Medicare

and Social Security.

You can imagine the chaos it ended up causing.

And now, just two days later, they've had to completely rescind that memo freeze

and a very embarrassing turn of events for them showing that they do not know how to govern.

Let's break down all that happened.

So the Trump memo, they put out this grand statement saying,

freezing these federal programs, they're trying to root out as they say,

DEI, transgender ideology, and the Green New Deal.

I mean, these are their talking points.

This is how they got so many of their people to the polls.

So they just decided to enact policy, essentially, with these phrases.

The problem is, those phrases don't actually mean a whole lot when you're actually talking

about governing.

So then they had to put out a second memo because in the first memo, they only excluded

Medicare and Social Security. And so states weren't sure if Medicaid also was being frozen
