0:48.2	The devastating economic numbers that were coming in as this pandemic was spreading across the country was something that Donald Trump saw as an existential threat to his re-election as president.
0:56.6	And he wanted to get the economy open, enough with the stay-at-home orders, find some way back to normalcy.
1:06.5	But what Donald Trump ran into head first is that the virus was not being mitigated.
1:15.6	The core problem, the public health problem, was not yet solved. And he was moving ahead to the
1:22.5	economic problem, which can't be solved without the virus, the public health crisis being solved.

1:32.7	Donald Trump tried this again with his own political campaign, his re-election campaign for the presidency.
1:39.2	His numbers were heading down, his approval rating, his head-to-head matchups against Joe Biden, not looking good.

1:49.7	So now they've pulled back from doing rallies.
1:54.2	I thought that was the solution to the president's political rehabilitation.
