Okay, the trade war is already underway. Or is it, James,

because just as we got ready to tape, there was breaking news about Trump pulling back on some of these

tariffs he had not just threatened, but implemented. So much of the last several days has been defined by confusion and chaos.

The markets ping ponging.

They're down big again today.

And after another big drop, Trump announced that Mexico will be granted a month-long reprieve

from tariffs on goods that fall under the existing free trade agreement that Trump renegotiated during his first term, the so-called USMCA, US-Mexico, Canada.

What is not clear at this hour is whether that also applies to Canada.

So there's some confusion.

This happened because Claudia Scheinbaum, the president of Mexico, who thus far as held off and saying what she'd retaliate against, she announced that she was going to have a big rally on the National Square in Mexico City on Sunday to announce all the things that she was going to retaliate.

And it seems like that was what sort of prompted Trump to, to diffuse this, but only for a month.
