The Trump administration detains Mahmoud Khalil, a prominent Gaza protester at Columbia University, saying it will revoke his green card and deport him for supporting Hamas.

Will this hold up in court or could it even go to the U.S. Supreme Court?

Welcome. I'm Kyle Peterson with the Wall Street Journal. We're joined today by my colleagues,

columnist Bill McGern, and editorial board member Kate Batchelder O'Dell. On Saturday night,

agents for the Department of Homeland Security detained Khalil at his university-owned

department in New York. Government spokeswoman said he had, quote, led activities aligned to

Hamas, a designated terrorist organization, unquote. President Trump is saying on true social,

this is the first arrest of many to come. We know there are more

students at Columbia and other universities across the country who have engaged in pro-terrorist,

anti-Semitic, anti-American activity, and the Trump administration will not tolerate it, unquote.

Here is the president himself outside the White House on Tuesday.
