Summary
The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (03/31/2023):
3:05pm- On Thursday evening, news broke that former President Donald Trump would be indicted for his role in allegedly providing hush money payments to adult film actress Stormy Daniels in 2016. Corinne Ramey and Joe Palazzolo of The Wall Street Journal write: “The substance of the charges aren’t public for now and are expected to remain sealed until Mr. Trump makes an initial appearance in court, likely on Tuesday afternoon. He is first expected to report to the district attorney’s office, where he will be arrested, fingerprinted and photographed.” According to claims made by Trump’s attorney, the former president will not accept any plea deal. 3:15pm- On Thursday night, in response to news of former President Donald Trump’s indictment, Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) tweeted: “The Grand Jury has acted upon the facts and the law. No one is above the law, and everyone has the right to a trial to prove innocence. Hopefully, the former President will peacefully respect the system, which grants him that right.” In response to Pelosi’s preposterous claims of a “trial to prove innocence”, Twitter quickly fact checked the statement, citing Cornell Law School: “Ms. Pelosi mistakenly says that Trump can prove his innocence at trial. Law in the US assumes the innocence of a defendant and the prosecution must prove guilt for a conviction.”
3:25pm Attorney Kate Shaw—Law Professor at Yeshica University & an expert on Constitutional Law—appeared on ABC News and seemingly questioned whether Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has jurisdiction to indict Donald Trump. Two-minutes into the interview, host George Stephanopoulos seemingly cut her off and immediately moved on from what she said.
3:40pm- While appearing on ABC News, Donald Trump’s Attorney Joe Tacopina condemned the Manhattan District Attorney’s office for bringing politically driven charges against the former president. Tacopina claimed the indictment is based upon “rumors and leaks.”
3:50pm- In his latest editorial for National Review, former Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York Andrew C. McCarthy writes: “Alvin Bragg, the elected progressive Democrat who ran for Manhattan district attorney as the candidate most likely to wield his power against Donald Trump, crossed the Rubicon on Thursday… If reports are to be believed, it is not merely an unworthy exercise of prosecutorial discretion. It is one that will threaten the legitimacy of the justice system—on the public acceptance of which the rule of law hinges.” You can read McCarthy’s full article here: https://www.nationalreview.com/2023/03/bragg-crosses-the-rubicon-indicting-trump-on-stormy-daniels-nonsense/
4:05pm- Zack Smith—Legal fellow and manager of the Supreme Court and Appellate Advocacy Program in Heritage’s Meese Center—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss a New York grand jury deciding to charge former President Donald Trump for his alleged involvement in hush money payments to adult film actress Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential election cycle. Smith contends Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office has several major hurdles he’ll have to clear in order to prove guilt including the character flaws of his star witness, Michael Cohen, who is a disbarred attorney that has pled guilty to lying before Congress.
4:15pm- While appearing on CNN, New York Times journalist Maggie Haberman claimed that indictment and arrest scare Donald Trump.
4:25pm- How much time has network television dedicated towards Biden family corruption allegations? Not much. Including zero coverage from ABC, CBS, and NBC…shocking! While speaking with Fox News’ Jimmy Failla, Congressman James Comer (R-KY) revealed that preliminary House investigations into the Biden family suggest that there are between five and seven Bidens who have received money from China.
4:30pm- Who Won Social Media? Rich gives it to himself for making fun of Nancy Pelosi. Is he allowed to do that?
4:35pm- While speaking with members of the press during her visit to Zambia, Vice President Kamala Harris declined to comment on the indictment of former President Donald Trump. Is Zambia a Texas border town, by chance?
4:45pm- Todd Shepherd—Chief Investigative Reporter at Broad + Liberty—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss his latest report, “Sen. Casey Tight-Lipped Over Potential Stock Sale Reporting Violation.” You can read the full article here: https://broadandliberty.com/2023/03/29/sen-casey-tight-lipped-over-potential-stock-sale-reporting-violation/
5:05pm- The Drive at 5: According to reports, former Donald Trump’s arraignment will take place at 2:15pm on Tuesday in New York.
5:10pm- According to a report from Adam Klasfeld of Law & Crime, right-wing Twitter troll Douglas Mackey has been convicted of interfering in the 2016 presidential election for his role in creating “deceptive” texts and memes. Isn’t this type of speech parody and, subsequently, protected under the 1st Amendment?
5:20pm- Chris Pratt hilariously mocked Instagram users who claimed they were offended by his recurring “snack of the day” social media posts.
5:40pm- According to a report from The New York Post, CBS News executives have barred reporters from using the word “transgender” while covering the actions of the Nashville, Tennessee shooter—a biological woman who identified as male. Meanwhile, ABC and NBC news ignored rioters—advocating on behalf of gun control legislation—who forced their way into Tennessee’s state capitol in Nashville on Thursday.
5:45pm- Speaking from the Senate floor, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) argued for a ban of the social media application TikTok—citing its parent company’s, ByteDance, close connections to the Chinese government. In a compelling rebuttal, Sen. Rand Paul argued that a ban would violate the 1st Amendment and that by censoring content the U.S. government would, ironically, adopt the policies of the Chinese Communist Party.
5:55pm- While visiting Rolling Fork, Mississippi on Friday, President Joe Biden vowed that “the town of Rolling Stone will be back” following a destructive tornado.
6:05pm- Jimmy Failla—stand-up comedian & Fox News Radio host—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss the craziness that is sure to occur during Trump’s arraignment in New York on Tuesday, the complexities of being an obese protestor, and the irony of porn star Stormy Daniels making money from WEARING clothes! You can hear The Best of Jimmy Failla every Saturday on 1210 WPHT.
6:25pm- Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) has been released from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center after receiving weeks of treatment for severe depression. He is expected to return to the U.S. Senate in mid-April.
6:45pm- David Harsanyi—Senior Writer at National Review & Senior Editor of The Federalist—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss his most recent editorial, “Nashville Heroes Expose the Lies of Uvalde Cowards.” You can read the full article here: https://thefederalist.com/2023/03/28/nashville-heroes-expose-the-lies-of-uvalde-cowards/
