Well, on the show today, we welcome back citizens Lori Wallach now during the summer

I personal anecdote here during the summer 2016 I was having a debate at work about

the presidential campaign and all my friends were talking about issues that might turn the election,

immigration, gun control, women's rights, which are all important issues.

And I mentioned global trade and everyone looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language and I remember one of my colleagues sort of scoffing

people don't know anything about trade, they don't care about trade.

And I said, you know, you don't have to know about trade to know you don't have a job.

And it turned out that Donald Trump took that issue from progressives and used it against

Hillary Clinton who at one time had called the TPP the Trans Pacific

Partnership the quote-unquote gold standard. Well Lori Wallach is the foremost expert on the issue of

global trade and someone I really wish was in the writer's room with me that day.
