This is exactly what Senate Majority Leader John Thune was trying to avoid.

He was trying to get a deal, have the White House

get on board, and fund DHS before Congress left for a two-week recess. That did not obviously

happen with the House rejecting Thune's strategy. And now he finds himself in a big jam as both

House Republicans, some conservatives in the Senate,

and the Trump administration, not happy with him.

Yeah, that's right.

Soon, as we've reviewed, early Friday morning, passed a bill to reopen DHS minus ICE and CBP.
