The first case of COVID-19 was reported in China in late December.

The casualties since then have been so vast, they're hard to fathom.

The virus has infected at least 2.5 million people in 185 countries, killing more than 175,000.

The U.S., which has been hit the hardest, has more than 830,000 reported cases,

and more than 47,000 people have died. Politicians in the U.S. are desperately searching for

answers and others to blame. Both Donald Trump and Joe Biden have launched attack ads focusing on China.

Trump's ad accuses Biden of protecting China's feelings and looking out for his own financial

interests.
