Former President Trump's second impeachment trial ended with an acquittal.

The final vote was 57 to 43.

All 50 Democrats in the Senate voted to convict Trump on the charge he incited an

insurrection at the Capitol, plus seven Republicans joined them.

That is actually the largest and most bipartisan vote in any presidential impeachment trial

in U.S. history, but of course it was not enough to convict.

It was 10 votes shy of the two-thirds majority needed for a guilty verdict, since most Republicans

voted to acquit.

Still, even the GOP seems pretty split about why Trump should be acquitted.
