Andrew Preston is a pleasure to welcome Andrew back. Andrew is a historian of

American diplomacy of American foreign policy so he is the perfect person to

talk us through some of this week's events. Andrew is also I think I'm allowed

to say this Canadian. You can say that. I think we outed you last time actually.

And I think maybe we can start with that because it is part of what's been

going on. So I want to put to you a variant of the question that was asked to

Donald Trump at his pretty extraordinary press conference yesterday so we're

speaking on Wednesday morning. One of the journalists said to him Mr. President

congratulations and then you called the Canadian Prime Minister very weak and

dishonest and you have just called the didn't quite believe like this murderous

Tarant Kim Jong Un a very talented guy. So Andrew how do you feel is a Canadian

about that? I mean it was a weird moment for sure and I think a lot of people

not just from Canada picked up on the weirdness of that moment. It's done just
