Hello listeners and welcome to true stories a collection of

podcast tales taken from my listeners at patreon.com these stories will I, come to me from all around the world and touch on all kinds of interesting themes.

The only criterion is that they're true.

As you know, I have a preference for tales of horror and the grotesque,

uncanny stories of things that defy rational explanation and as luck would have it when I asked

my patrons at the five to ten dollar level at Patreon if they had any stories that

fitted that bill someone was kind enough to provide one.

Paco Marquez is a long time listener of mine who lives in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

He and I have been occasional correspondence for well over 10 years now.

So when he contacted me to tell me that he had a tale to tell,

I was delighted to finally get the chance to talk to him in person, albeit via

Zoom.

Paco's story took place many years ago at a place called Marchakita in Puerto Rico, where there's a beautiful

crescent-shaped beach with two rocky promontories that almost enclose the small bay but for a spot where the sea flows through.

I've posted a link to a video of the place in the show notes for this episode so you can see it for yourself.

According to Tripadvisor, March Akita is notorious for riptides and undercurrents.

But unfortunately, Tripadvisor wasn't around when Paco went for a dip that was almost his last.

But you don't want to hear his tale second hand from me, so I'll hand over to Paco himself for his true story.
