0:49.8	reasons the enemy tries to steal your joy is so he can drain you of your strength. But have we traded
0:55.6	God-inspired joy for a surface, shallowy positivity? And is there a clear distinction between the two?
1:03.1	Absolutely, yes, there is. Jennifer Michelle Greenberg joins me today to talk about her book,
1:08.3	Defiant Joy, Find the Hope to light your way, even in the darkness.
1:12.7	What's really important about today's conversation is this, if you're going through a terrible
1:16.7	time, we're not going to tell you, just don't worry and be happy. If you're walking through an
1:21.0	uncertain time, we're not going to tell you to act like you have it all together. But what we are going to tell you is that joy is a fruit of the
1:27.8	spirit and it's a gift from God. And you can participate in a supernatural exchange with Almighty God
1:33.5	as you trust him with parts of your story that hurt or that don't make sense right now. Jennifer says
1:39.2	that this joy can only be found in God. It's a joy that doesn't depend upon us or our past or how wise
1:45.0	or good or positive we try to be. It's an inexplicable joy that shines so brightly that
1:50.2	its rays of hope pierced through our darkest nights. I really think, in fact, I believe with all
