Today we are going to discuss the life of St. Pascal Balan,

whose life was dominated entirely to his God,

especially to his real and true presence in the Holy Eucharist.

Let us begin his story. In Pascal's lifetime, the Spanish Empire in the New World was at the

height of its power, though France and England were soon to reduce its influence.

The 16th century has been called the Golden Age of the Church in Spain, for it gave birth

to multiple saints, including St. Ignatius of Loyola, St. Francis Xavier, St. Teresa of Avila, St. John of the Cross, and St. Peter of Alcantara.

Pascal's Spanish parents were poor and pious living at Toray Hermosa in Aragon.

He was born on the Feast of Pentecost and was named Pasqua an honor of the feast.
