0:35.4	Today we are going to look at the life of St. Angela Marici,
0:39.3	who dedicated her life to the education of young girls in order to help the family to live a Catholic
0:45.6	life. Let us begin her story. St. Angela Marici was born on March 21st, 1474, in Desizano, a small town on the shore of Lake Garda in Lombardy.
1:01.0	At just 10 years old, Angela and her older sister became orphans and went to live with her uncle in Sallow.
1:09.0	There they led a quiet and devout Catholic life.
1:13.6	After the untimely death of her sister, Angela was saddened by the fact that she had not
1:19.6	had the opportunity to receive her last sacraments and was concerned for her sister's eternal salvation.
1:28.3	Angela was inspired by the Holy Ghost to dedicate herself to the Lord and to give her life and service to the Church to help everyone go closer to the Lord.
1:37.3	Still filled with grief, she prayed for God to reveal the condition of her deceased sister's soul. In a vision, she learned her sister was in heaven with the company of saints.
1:50.0	She became increasingly more devout and joined the Third Order of St. Francis,
1:55.0	where she also pledged to remain a consecrated virgin,
1:59.0	forsaking marriage to one man to be married to the Lord and his church.
2:06.0	When Angela was 20 years old, her uncle died and she returned to Desinzano. She found that around
2:12.8	her hometown, there were many young girls who had no education and no hope. She also became distressed by their ignorance and upset at the parents who had not educated them.
2:24.3	Inspired by the Holy Ghost, Angela became convinced there was great need for a better way of teaching these young girls.
