I've got a question for you as we step into this week's episode.

What makes someone a truly great leader? I want you to think about that for a moment,

in particular as we dance through this episode and into our weeks ahead. What makes someone

a truly great leader? Is it their resume?

Is it the resolute stance on an issue?

Is it how articulate they can share it?

The influence they can wield, the results they get.

Although the answer, of course, is a bit nuanced.

While being driven back to the airport last week, I saw clearly what it means to embody true greatness.

Let me explain.

While limping through afternoon traffic on the way back to the San Diego airport, I started talking life with my driver.

At just 28 years of age, Orlando has already transitioned through several careers

and learned some difficult lessons along the way. But he also had a vision for what he wanted to do

next. He shared vulnerably about the challenges he'd already overcome, the goals he'd already

set for himself, and the impact that he desired to make through

his life.

After hearing part of his story and part of his journey, I shared a little bit of mine.

Orlando learned about the fire.

He learned about the decades-long craving that I had to hide from those scars.

And he also learned about the turning point of my life
