Would you turn with me this morning to the book of Timothy?

We'll look at 2nd Timothy, chapter 1.

We began last week, I believe it was, on this series, and the title is brought out in this particular verse,

2 Timothy,

and the first chapter,

Paul by the Spirit,

the Spirit, I should say speaking through Paul,

to Timothy,

reminds him of faith.

And he says in 2nd Timothy 1 and verse 5, he said,

when I call to remembrance the unfamed faith that is in you, which dwelt first in

your grandmother Lois and your mother Unicey.

I know some folks say Eunice, but that's how it's marked in my Bible.

And I am persuaded that in you also, and probably you know this long ago they didn't talk like we do.

But the point was he said uh in unis unicy and lois they had faith and they had an unfaigned faith say that out loud unfaimed and he said that unfaigned faith said that unfamed faith that was in them is in you.

Does it matter who you hang around? The influences on your life. Does it matter? And, you know,

people are very focused nowadays on, you know, I want to have enough money to give my kids an education and give

them things I didn't have. And that's good and that's fine, but that's not the most important

thing there to receive from you. Some of the most important things they should receive from you

is a heritage of knowing God.

They should learn about God through your life.

They should learn how to pray by listening to you and watching you.
