If you would turn with me in the scripture this morning to a couple of openings,

2 Timothy the first chapter and 2 Corinthians 13.

2 Timothy 1 and 5.

Paul, by the Spirit, writing to Timothy, refers to his upbringing and heritage,

and he said, verse five, he said, when I call to remembrance the unfained faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and

your mother, Unisi, and I'm persuaded that in you also.

Say it out loud, unfaigned faith.

If you look at other translations, the weist or woosh, depending on how you pronounce it,

says unhypocrical faith.

Three different translations say genuine faith.

And three other translations say true faith.

True faith.

So we're beginning a new series this morning.

And this is the title of it.

True faith.

True faith. True faith.

If there's true faith, what else must there be?

False faith.

Unfamed faith, the word fain means pretend,

or not sincere, insincere, or hypocritical.

Or you could say false.

He wouldn't use the word unfained faith, genuine faith, true faith, unless there is that which is called faith, but it's not true faith.
