Let's get weird. How about a car theft that results in an epic game of hide-and-seek?

Welcome to True Crime to Go. I'm John here with Jamie. We have a true crime story in 10 minutes or less. How you doing over there, man?

Doing really well. How about you? I'm doing great. This one is intriguing. So we've only got a few minutes. Why don't you get the ball rolling?

Yeah, it's kind of a wild story that comes to us from Manchester, England. It involves a fugitive, a surprising turn of events and a giant teddy bear.

Over in the Rockdale neighborhood of Manchester, law enforcement had been on the hunt for 18-year-old Carthief Joshua Dobson.

So Dobson had been on the run since May, and he was accused of stealing a high-value Mitsubishi SUV. Do they make Mitsubishi's anymore? They do, right?

I think so. I don't see him even more popular than they are now. Agreed. They used to be available more often where we live, but I don't see him a ton.

Buddy, a mind-driven eclipse, but this is an SUV. This is a bigger car, and he was accused of fueling without paying.

Followed by their hearts. I've got a story for that in a couple of weeks, but anyway, he stole fuel and then sped away into the night.

The police needed to get this guy in, and they had a hard time finding him, but their persistence finally paid off.

And they discovered his hiding place, and Jamie, you mentioned a teddy bear. They found him hiding inside of the giant teddy bear.

We've seen TikToks, we've seen videos where people will get in these and just sit there and then slightly move and scare the crap out of people. That's what this guy was doing.

I've seen some big teddy bears. Have you ever seen one big enough that you could fit in?

Oh, I mean, that would be a giant teddy bear. You said big.

Yeah, so has there been one that like I'm trying to size up Mr. Dobson here?

No, I mean, I have seen some teddy bears that I could get in, but I've never owned one of those because that takes up way too much real estate.

Right, right.

But what makes this story even more crazy is how Dobson managed to pull off his hideout.

So he was able to stay away from police for months, but little did they know that his hiding spot would be the most unconventional one they've probably ever seen.

So they finally tracked Dobson down and he was at his girlfriend's house.

So they went to this house and asked if they could look around and they were given permission to do so.

So they were looking around and of course we've covered other stories. I think on true crime to go where people would be hiding like under the floor or in a secret compartment.
