In retrospect, maybe I would not have put the the Christmas special with a dead body

in it on Christmas day but we are where we are well it doesn't change the fact that it

happened it's almost fitting because this was also under a tree and we'll talk more about that but guys happy happy

I can't believe that 2023 is just almost a wrap.

It was over in the blink of an eye for sure,

but we've had a lot of fun, produce some new shows and continue to rock out the true crime to go.

This is our last Christmas holiday true crime to go special though so get us rolling.

Yeah we hope you all have enjoyed those. All right, Jamie, we've got a somber tail from 1996 that has recently seen some closure. There was a woman who was referred to as the Christmas tree lady and she was

unfortunately found dead in Ainingdale, Virginia. For more than two decades her

identity was a mystery. All investigators had for this was a Christmas tree, a tape player, and a note that was found beside her body.

And this note said, deceased by own hands prefer no autopsy and it was signed Jane Doe so it was

either a suicide note or a murderer writing a pretend suicide note.

Yeah, it's been a crazy mystery and it seemed like a lonely end and nobody knew who she was or why she took her own life. Or even if that's really what happened but earlier

this year there was a breakthrough. Thanks to DNA and genealogy research the

Christmas tree lady was identified as Joyce Marilyn Meyer
