Years ago, when four-wheel-drive trucks had all manual locking hubs.

Remember you had to get out and you had to turn the little knob, which was always poorly designed.

But at one point somebody asked me, well, what are you looking for in a woman?

And I said, I'm just looking for a woman who will get out and lock the hub on her side.

It was a couple months into our relationship before I learned that my boyfriend has a

name for his truck. He calls it the sleek black beauty and he's not alone. My father has a Ford

F 150 he calls Big Shoulders. We live in a place where trucks are a passion.

It's not an overt passion.

It's more of an understated Vermont kind of passion.

But sometimes it heats up when you get people talking about Ford versus Chevy versus Dodge so I drove around and I talked with some

guys about trucks here's what they said.

My truck of choice is a Ford. The frames hold up better and the motors last a lot longer.

And you state that like it's a fact?

It is. I've owned them both.

Forage, Chevy, Dodge, and the one that actually lasts the best

is Ford.

Probably the best truck I've ever owned was the last one prior to this.

And it was my first Duramax Diesel but that truck was it was

previously owned by a logger out of Danville and that I think that truck was just

worked from the day it was brand new off the dealership law and it was a worker, you know, this truck came from out west and I bought it because it had a rust-free body on it but I think this truck was like

somebody's vacation truck and you could tell that it wasn't used to be in
