The FIFA World Cup is coming to 16 North America cities in the Summer of 2026 and our home city of Philadelphia was selected for 3 weeks of tournament competition (June 11th to June 4th, 2026); and a 40 day celebration of all things fútbol throughout the tourney (FANFEST). Today's episode was recorded at the global headquarters for Philadelphia Soccer. Philly Soccer is 501(c)3 non profit organization that handles all things World Cup & FIFA for the city of Philadelphia. This includes the bid process, welcome committee, fundraising , marketing, outreach and so much more. We had the pleasure of having a 90+ minute conversation with the CEO of Philly Soccer, Meg Kane, who is a titan in the world of hospitality, tourism and large event strategy. Her resume includes coordinating the 2015 Papal Visit and World Meeting of Families. Joining us as well, is Philly Soccer's Director of Impact, Jonathan Todd who's past work as Director of Talent Acquisition for the City of Philadelphia and Director of DEI for Rivers Casino made him a shoe in for his latest position.
