Tropical Storm Hillary continues on its way into Nevada after sweeping through Southern

California yesterday and today.

The storm brought high winds and the rainiest day in August history in many California cities,

resulting in widespread flooding and down power lines.

As of Monday morning, Mount San Jacinto, California saw nearly 12 inches of rainfall.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Public Health Department is warning beach goers to stay out of the

ocean for the next three days due to the potential for elevated levels of bacteria thanks to the

storm.

Officials say Palm Springs has received more than half a year's worth of rain, one

resident detailed the dramatic scene to CBS.

I have a friend who just saw a 60-foot car port, get blown off of his neighbor's house

and carried four houses up.

In Los Angeles, first responders continue to receive a large number of emergency calls

related to the storm.

During the 24-hour period of August 20th, the 2023, the LFD responded to 1,833 emergency

incidents.

We received a total of 4105 telephone calls to our 911 dispatch center, and this represents

over a thousand additional emergency phone calls than our normal average.
