Aylworth of Handmade Angler in Massachusetts. And Jay is going to be talking about largemouth bass fishing in general

and specifically about catching trophy largemouth.

What time of day to a fish, what flies does he prefer,

how does he retrieve the flies.

It's something that we, most of of us have close to home. We have a largemouth bass pond somewhere

And although you may not have trophy bass in your local pond you at least have some some bass to play. So we haven't done a largemouth

podcast in a while and it's America's favorite game fish so and you can

easily catch them on a fly rod so I hope you enjoy the interview.

first question is an email from Riley from Corpus Christi Texas.

I've been fly fishing for about two years now and I am really enjoying it. Here's my first question. I just

got a vice and tools for my 14th birthday and I have been tying patterns for salt water

for about three weeks now but in January of next year we're going to

California for a wedding and we are taking the long scenic route through Colorado

and I want to know if you have some suggestions for patterns that I can use to catch trout and that I can tie.

My next question is about rod length. I've been looking at the Clearwater 8 foot 6 inch 5 weight and the 9 foot 5 weight, but I can't decide which one to choose. I will be fishing small to medium sized streams. Thank you for all you and
