This week we got to talk to the three new coaches on the USC Trojan staff.

Our beat writer Dan Weike was down there at Heritage Hall on Tuesday.

Got to talk to all three of those coaches.

We wanted to bring you the audio from some of those interviews

in this special Trojan blast. First up we have Brian Schneider. He is the new special teams

coordinator for USC.

How did this opportunity kind of come up, curiously?

I, you know, things work out in a weird way.

Coach Carroll came up a couple times when I was with the Raiders through Lane.

And he said he just kind of met me up through there and said he kind of wanted to create or have a special teams coach.

I think just, you know, the time and situation things worked out.

So, great opportunity for me and my family, so we're really excited about it.

How did you become a specialty coach?

You were a linebacker.

I was a linebacker at Colorado State and then I knew I wanted to get right into coaching

and I actually always wanted to be a teacher in a coach in high school.

So my dad was and a lot of coaches said you know you need to look into being a graduate

system. So they offered me a graduate assistant job the next year

and I end up staying for 14 years.

But I started to be a GA on defense for three years.
