development issues for the Washington Business Journal. Tristan what's up buddy?

Hey thanks for having me. This is a big deal, man. We're taking calls on it and people are on both sides.

But kind of just give us your perspective of this thing in terms of the impacts it would have on the DC area you know and

Chinatown area because when they built this thing I think you cover it

it was like 9.2 billion in redevelopment down there in

Chinatown and a gallery place and it was a huge attraction huge and people

moving there businesses for opening up sports bars, restaurants, right?

And there is a crime issue, no doubt.

That's impacted it.

But just kind of give us your perspective on what a move like this would do to that area.

Oh yeah I mean it can't be understated this is this would be a massive hit on downtown I mean if you think about

kind of how how things have changed there since they first, you know, opened in 1997, I mean, what is it?

There 47 million people have attended 4,500 events, 200 events a year. You know, these are folks

coming downtown eating at restaurants, going to bars, that sort of thing and, you know, they've

already been struggling this year. I I mean I agree with what you

guys have been saying this morning I mean crimes part of it but you know downtown's got a lot of

other struggles that that really are kind of at the forefront of the problems here.

Yeah, it, listen, I don't have a horse in the fight, whatever the cliche is, dog in the fight.
