This episode takes us behind the scenes of director J.C. Chandor's new action thriller,

Triple Frontier.

The film tells the story of five former Special Forces operatives who reunite to rob a cocaine cartel boss

in a sparsely populated multi-border zone of South America.

When events take an unexpected turn and threaten to spiral out of control, their skills,

their loyalties, and their morals are pushed to a breaking point in an epic battle for survival.

In addition to Triple Frontier, Mr. Chander's credits include the feature films

A Most Violent Year, All Is Lost, and Margin Call.

Following a recent screening of the film at the DGA Theater in New York, Mr. Chander spoke

with director Tony Gilroy about filming Triple Frontier.

During their conversation, Mr. Chandor discusses how the location team was helpful

in creating the chase sequences, how the film survived two shutdowns during production,

and the importance of investing resources into the practical parts of action scenes

while saving the VFX for places the audience would never notice.
