podcast. Trey Wingo, you know him well, voice of ESPN for so long, up until basically a month ago

when he's moved on to start his own

podcast. But Trey is a person that was so good to everyone at ESPN, one of the most popular

people there. It was good to get him on to talk about his life at ESPN, his life before

his PN, what's going on in the NFL this year, his projections about the Super Bowl and playing with COVID

and where he's gone since ESPN and putting together a new podcast and the people he's talking

to. So without further ado on the Business of Sports podcast this week, the one and only,

Trey Wingo. Welcome to the podcast. Good to talk to you. Always been a friend to me and to so many at

ESPN. It's great to have you on the pod. Well, you clearly didn't meet enough people at ESPN then,

but thank you for that. Look, I always enjoyed hanging out with you. I thought you brought a really

unique perspective to what we were trying to do in the shows that that wasn't there filled by a coach or by a

player and you know I think so many times when we talk football specifically the NFL you know

it always is about the game and it's never about the game but the game or the business dictates

the game and and that's what I really appreciated about the times that you and I did

shows together you know it was interesting there because this some of the guys would come to me

now and then and producers and would say is this what we really should be talking about you know

and I think it's just what you said I'm no, the front offices don't really talk about that.

You know, when sometimes in media you say, well, they're probably talking about this, but they're really not. And there are a lot of the things I think the media makes a bigger deal of than people in the game. and hopefully I brought that perspective.
