Suspense. Suspense is the nothing personal word of the day for

Thursday, August 26th, 2021. Suspense. Who's not waiting if you're a football fan? The NFL

starts in a couple weeks. Everyone's all excited. Who's going to be your starting quarterback?

It's like the suspense of naming the opening day pitcher in Major League Baseball.

It's really not suspense because we never really cared. It's an honor to give the opening day

nod to somebody. I always liked being a part of calling in the pitcher and telling them even though

they know way before we tell them because in baseball, you pitch every five days and the agents

and the players get together and lobby us as to when their pitcher should start during spring

training because they know if they line up for the every five days prior to opening day,

there's a good chance that they'll pitch opening day. But we like to keep everyone in the dark,

a little suspense and then tell the pitcher, Hey, congratulations. You are our opening day

starter. Whoopie. The NFL does the same thing and I like it. The suspense over who's going to

be the starting quarterback yet to talk about it during the off season. Get the fans all excited,

not sure which jersey to buy. Do you buy a Trevor Lawrence jersey or a meat gardener,

a minishoo jersey and you listen to urban mayor say Trevor's our guy. He's earned it.
