This time, it's about plans to use tree planting as a way to tackle climate change.

It's easy to forget that ultimately, the emergency climate comes down to a single number.

For global warming to slow, the amount of carbon needs to come down.

And the UK's Prime Minister Boris Johnson has a plan for this.

We can get real on coal, cars, cash and trees.

Well, there are new announcements on coal, cars and cash, but they remain difficult, unresolved

issues.

But trees, surely they're more straightforward.

They take carbon out of the atmosphere and store it.

That's helpful.

And there's been no shortage of plans to plant trees.

This was then US President Donald Trump back in 2020.

The United States will join one trillion trees initiative being launched here at the

World Economic Forum, one trillion trees.

Other countries have big plans too, including Pakistan and Boris Johnson wants others to follow

its lead.
