commander news that we've kind of been oddly commander focused but today we're going to be talking

some constructed magic we had a huge pioneer tournament But today, we're going to be talking some constructed magic. We had a huge pioneer tournament this weekend. So we're going to talk about the state of pioneer. We're going to talk about some modern and where the formats add. And if the bannings worked, I know Richard's been playing some modern lately. And then we'll probably get into some standard to. And then we actually are going to answer a fish mail question this week. I promise we're going to make a point to make sure it happens. So this weekend was the regional championships. And this is like a very big event. If you don't know regionals now, this is like, I guess kind of pro tour level. So if you do well in this tournament,

not only do you get the top eight goes directly to the next pro tour, the top two goes directly to worlds at the end of the year.

So there's some like huge prizes on the line.

And there were almost 2,000 people in this event, Star City Games ran it, 1,117 people altogether.

So this was one of the biggest magic tournaments we've had in a while,

and it was so nostalgic. Like, it was, it was like I was back in a time machine to like

2010 or something with Cedric and Patrick doing coverage and, like, people, you know, sweat it

out for like the whole weekend. I felt so bad. This one guy that made the top eight was like bad this one guy that made the top eight was like

this one guy that made the top eight was playing so slowly you know he'd been playing for like

16 hours straight and he was just like dragging but he made it all the way to the finals with
