They tried it, and they're still working on it. The process started

in 2015 when they decided to do an audit to find out if they even had a pay gap. That first

year, they kept it pretty simple. They looked only at base salaries, people with the same job

type, broken down by gender. They found that 6% of Salesforce's employees were being underpaid for no apparent reason.

It wasn't because they were working fewer hours or didn't have a lot of experience.
