Hello my friends and welcome back. It is time for you and me to get our minds aligned with the

truth of God and we've been doing that most recently by going through the book of Proverbs.

And we've spoken about what a proverb is. It's a wise saying that's given in a very direct and

pithy way many times using imagery and many times using symbolism. We're going to get into that

in just a moment for today. But first I want to remind you every Friday so that means today I publish

Okay today we are in Proverbs chapter two verses one through eight and if you remember from our

last few episodes the writer Solomon has been personifying wisdom and as a person wisdom

is speaking directly to us and that's a literary device that authors often use to personify a

characteristic as if that characteristic could speak directly to you and that's how we are reading

the passage here in Proverbs chapter two. Beginning in verse number one it says my son if you

receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you making your ear attentive to wisdom

and inclining your heart to understanding yes if you call out for insight and raise your voice

for understanding if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures then

you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God for the Lord gives wisdom

and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding he stores up sound wisdom for the upright

he is a shield to those who walk in integrity guarding the paths of justice and watching over

the way of his saints and my friend what I notice most clearly in this section where wisdom is
