Halloween is still five months away, but I have something spooky for you.

Cody Carpenter and I looked back at the 2019 running back class and compared it

running back by running back to the 2021 class and unfortunately I have bad

news for the 2021 running back enthusiasts. The 2019 class the highly

underwhelming 2021 class is a close comparable. Now at the top we compared

Najeh Harris to Josh Jacobs. That's the comp from 2021 to 2019. I know it's

not close. I know Najeh Harris is bigger, faster, more skilled, better in

every way than Josh Jacobs, but they did go to Alabama and we're not even

sure Najeh Harris is going to go in the first round. I've seen mocks that have

left Najeh Harris out of the first round and have Travis ETN inside the top

20. Now that would be more reasonable because Travis ETN has the multi-year

passing game chops at the college level where he has 40 plus targets and

consecutive seasons where you can say with certainty this guy provides a true

advantage in the passing game and really the passing game is all that matters.

So because of that if I were an NFL general manager I would have the

Travis ETN much higher. There is a case that you could draft Travis ETN in the

late first round. If you were truly drafting the best players available based on

position scarcity and positional impact, but I wouldn't. If I were an NFL

general manager, unless we're talking say Juan Barkley at pick 32. I'm probably
